ELECTEX Dublin 2022 Review
ELECTEX Dublin felt right at home at its new address at the RDS Simmonscourt in Ballsbridge last September 7 and 8. The trade event welcomed an impressive number of 2,668 visitors from all over Ireland to see the latest innovations in the electrical industry from 75 exhibitors, with experts on hand showing every aspect of the sector in the country, from cable management to smart technologies.
Visitors gathered outside the venue even before the doors were open to check out 200 top brands and new products, as well as to enjoy exclusive show offers and the always popular freebies. There was great attendance at the event’s talks, which covered relevant issues such as surge protection and wiring regulations. The fun activities featured by the Apprentice Challenges, with prizes over €1400, also contributed to the great atmosphere at the RDS.
The show’s exhibitors agree ELECTEX Dublin was a great opportunity to meet and develop relationships with their distributors and end customers face to face, promote their brand, and showcase new products and all their expertise. The trade event was also THE place to do business, as companies received interesting enquiries and numerous orders during the show.
EIFI president at ELECTEX Dublin
Gabriel Byrne, President of the Electrical Federation of Ireland (EIFI) and member of the Lighting Europe Executive Board, also attended ELECTEX in Dublin. A long-standing member of the lighting business community in Ireland, Gay enjoyed the opportunity to meet old friends and see first-hand the latest innovations in the sector. “The exhibitors have really outdone themselves with attractive displays and interesting demonstrations,” he commented. “ELECTEX was very well-organised and attended. It represents a huge contribution to the electrical industry as a whole.”

“It is the biggest event that we attend, and it is very important for us market leaders to get out there in a public space and showcase our products, inform and educate people. I think this is the best show and the best event of the year for us to do that.”
Declan Donnelly, National Sales Manager at ATC Electrical & Mechanical
“For us, it is great because we are in front of a huge amount of people in a very short period of time. We are obviously trying to promote our brand and new products that we’ve launched, so it is a great way to get in front of a lot of people with the same interest.”
Dan Hope, National Sales Manager at Ovia Lighting
“The event is a great place to do business. We got a number of orders and great inquiries, and we met lots of different customers from around Ireland. The Apprentice Challenge was really good fun. I would definitely recommend being an exhibitor at the show. For us, it’s a must every year.”
Bernard Carroll, Technical Sales Executive at Core Distribution
“The benefits for Schneider Electrical to be at ELECTEX is to meet with our customers, whether they are the electricians who use our products day in and day out, or partners and distributors who supply electricians with our products. It’s also an opportunity for us to showcase some of our newer products.”
Gillian McCarthy, Marketing Manager – Europe, Schneider Electric Ireland
