The story

London Luton Airport is the fourth-largest airports in the UK. The expansion project is crucial for meeting the exponential air travel demand over the next two decades and is expected to increase the annual capacity by 50%. Ensuring a powerful and uninterrupted electrical supply in an airport of this calibre is crucial for the expected 18 million users a year.

The solution

Core conceived, designed and offered a complete busbar feeder route, using the high-performance EAE Elbagate’s 3200 Amp and 630 Amp aluminium busbars, with the challenge of ensuring adaptability between the flange and the transformer, main switchboard and sub-switchboards layouts.

We organised a programme orientated delivery of the equipment as well as supervising on-site measurements and installation. 

The success

The fully type-tested and certified system that was delivered is less prone to faults, risks or damage. Long lasting and flexible, it can easily be further expanded or modified. It ensures a powerful and uninterrupted electrical supply for users’ satisfaction and safety.
