The story

To promote and establish Belfast as a world-class business destination, Belfast City Council undertook the extension of the conference and entertainment centre.

The solution

Powering and cabling such a building requires specialised equipment capable of bearing very heavy weights as well as ensuring sufficient and continuous power to supply large or multiple events.

Core developed a tailor-made, flexible solution to distribute the power through the walls and floors without compromising their weight capacity. Using underfloor and rising busbar from EAE, and floor boxes and in-screed trunking systems from Cableduct we created a high-quality yet cost-efficient and practical system which effectively distributes and allows access to the power through the five-floor building.

The success

The result is a perfectly installed system that matches all the standards of a major leading conference and exhibition centre. The Waterfront is more than ever a top location for business and entertainment events, and has welcomed over 40,000 guests since its re-opening in April 2016.
